www.optoma.eu Huge screen, fully immersive 3D projection at home 3D Blu-ray, 3D PS3 / XBox 360 games and Sky 3D 16 compatible projectors in the Optoma range Amazing, fully immersive. life-size 3D projection is now possible in the home. The world’s first 3D projector adapter, the Optoma 3D-XL adapts existing DLP® projectors enabling them to display 3D. Compatible with 3D broadcast signals such as Sky 3D in the UK; 3D Blu-ray players and 3D games from the Sony® PS3 / Xbox 360 the 3D-XL simply connects between a 3D source and a DLP projector. The huge, greater than 100″, 3D projected images in the home provide a fantastically immersive experience that is just not possible with the small screen of a 3D TV and amazingly the total cost of this jaw-dropping 3D experience is a fraction of the cost of 3D TV’s! The 3D-XL is ideal for use with the Optoma HD67 projector for the home but can also be used with any of the 16 compatible models in the Optoma range. This makes the 3D-XL, when paired with one of the Optoma Professional AV projector models, an ideal solution for large screen Sky 3D viewing in pubs or bars. For full compatibility details please visit the Optoma webiste: www.optoma.co.uk www.optoma.eu

@kwanthumfighterZ The 1.4 denotation for HDMI signifies whether it can carry 1080p frame sequential 3D signals and essentially this comes down to bandwidth allowed by the quality of the cable.
Therefore some 1.3 ‘high speed’ cables although not officially 1.4 compliant, will work fine with the 3D-XL. So yes, in theory you can use both, but Optoma will provide no guarantee for incompatible cables. (Note: In this video we used 1.4)
Are you using hdmi 1.3 or 1.4, or will they both work well with 3d-xl?
As Wimbledon finals will be broadcast in 3D this year on Freeview HD I am thinking of getting one of these boxes & projector. Will 3D-XL accept the Freeview HD 3D signal?
@Ipixtt This display is only compatible with PC based 3D, not the 3D-XL. You need the NVIDIA 3D Vision Kit to get 3D on this monitor.
@orville1960 If you get a 50″ 3DTV, it will only ever be 50″. Some of our 3D projectors can output a maximum image size of up to 300″, which makes the 3D a lot more immersive as it fills your peripheral vision. As opposed to watching 3D through a box which is attached to the wall. Also, our solution is a fraction of the price of a 3DTV.
Can this work with the Acer GD235HZbid Widescreen 23.6″ 3D LCD Display. The goal would be to connect my ps3 and play in 3d on the monitor
WHY BOTHER ? go get a 3D TV
Just wanna say thanks to Optoma for releasing the HD65 3d update software. Thanks people, all the very best from me and I will defo be purchasing a 3dxl in the very near future.
@klnavas There are some Benq models that are compatible with the 3D-XL. However, the MS510 has not been officially tested. It may work, but Optoma does not guarantee this. Models that have been officially tested are on our website.
is it compatible with Benq MS510 proyector??
@pikaprince1345 The 3D-XL can display 2D and 3D sources. However, to display 3D, the source must be 3D. For example, it will receive signal from a 3D Blu-ray and display it as 3D. However, it will not display a 2D source as 3D. The initial source must have a 3D element.
i have a 3d xl, does it have 2d to 3d conversion cause if it does how do u do it?
Pity they they didn’t see fit to cater for the thousands of dlp link 3D readyprojectors that only have vga/svga and are still being sold. It would open up a much greater market. I only bought mine at the end of last year so I’m not going to change for a while! Perhaps an adapter might be brought out soon with full support???
@OptomaEMEA
@altlhi If you want 3D projection from your 3D Blu-ray player, 3D satellite television receiver or PS3 / Xbox 360 then YES, you will need the 3D-XL. However, if you are only running 3D from your PC, then NO you don’t need the 3D-XL, but you will need some other equipment listed on our website.
@OptomaEMEA so if i have a gt720 or hd67n I DONT NEED AN ADAPTER ?
thank you very much .
@altlhi The only projectors that will work with “Nvidia 3D-Vision Kit” for 3D Gaming and 3D Blu-ray (Cyberlink PowerDVD 10 also required) are the Optoma HD67N & GT720.
Alternatively, you can use “Nvidia 3D-TV Play” software to allow PC-based 3D content to support the 3D-XL, then you can use any 3D-Ready Projector.

@AirbrushAcoustics Hi thanks for your question. A response has been sent to your inbox. -Optoma team
Hi, I want to buy this product but am slightly skeptical on how it works. I have a 3D ready projector (Acer H5360) and I have a Sony PS3. When playing 3D games and watching 3D movies, does the 3DXL send a message to the PS3 to tell it that its 3D mode is turned on? I ask this because if you try and play a stereoscopic 3D game or watch a Stereo 3D film, it either blacks out the 3D option or like on 3D Blu-ray it says you need to have a 3D capable device that has its 3D mode turned on. Thank You
@darockk Hi thank you for your question, the glasses will sync when they are facing the projected image and/or screen. Whether this is to the left or right of the screen is irrelevant. – Optoma
@darockk Unfortunately there is no remote to accompany this product.
is there a remote control to turn the optoma adapter box off/on?
how does the adapter box talk to the glasses? do you need line of sight to get the glasses to sync?
@kapteinsnute Thank you for the feedback! – Optoma
