E&T video: 3D TV, a sight for sore eyes

3D TV technology provided a buzz at this year’s IBC. We speak to David Wood, deputy director general, European Broadcasting Union about some concerns he has with the technology in relation to anecdotal tales of eye strain. More great videos can be seen at kn.theiet.org

    @engtechmag I like a 3d movie here and there but I love my 2D tv :)

    @1983Jacko I guess you’re right. Since producing this video, I have seen Avatar – and James Cameron has proved that done right 3D can be enjoyable. I’ve also seen Alice in Wonderland and it was truly headache inducing due to the 3D applied in post production. Ruined what could have been a good experience.

    I don’t think it’s healthy to watch day in and day out. Sure a 3d movie sometimes is ok, but watching this kind of tv daily, I’m really not into it. You can definitely feel strain on your eyes when you watch too much 3d, it can’t be good for you.
